Carterville Chamber of Commerce
Our Carterville Chamber Business Spotlight of the Week for Monday, April 2nd is AGE - Affordable Gas + Electric!
Affordable Gas + Electric (AGE) is a proud member of the Carterville Chamber of Commerce, as well as 18 other Chambers throughout Southern Illinois and the Metro East. AGE partners with the Chamber to coordinate its Bulk Electricity Buying Group. The Buying Group includes members of the Chambers of Commerce from Carterville, Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Murphysboro and more. AGE combines the collective purchasing power of nearly 1,000,000,000 kWh’s from over 1,000 manufacturers, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, municipalities, schools and other participating members of the chambers to negotiate bulk electricity supply rates. The resulting savings are real dollar savings that translate directly to the bottom line of the participating members. In many cases, participation in the Buying Group, essentially pays for the membership dues of a chamber member, making this an extremely effective value added program for Carterville Chamber members. In 2016 & 2017, AGE was recognized as Homefield Energy’s largest volume commercial and industrial broker/aggregator, much of which is directly attributed to the purchasing power of the Chamber’s buying group.
“We are very excited to have the members of the Carterville Chamber of Commerce join our buying group. As the former Chamber of Commerce Director for the Murphysboro Chamber of Commerce and one of the founding Chamber participants of the Buying Group, I know first-hand the kinds of savings our members benefited from. My role as Energy Consultant for AGE is to insure similar opportunities are made available to chamber members throughout Southern Illinois, including Carterville members” said Bruce Wallace of AGE.
