Chamber Spotlight Business of the Week for Monday February 18th is Rise Above It Bakery & Cafe

Our next Chamber Spotlight Business of the Week is Rise Above It Bakery & Cafe!

Rise Above it Bakery & Café opened in June 2018 and is located at 137 S. Division St., in between the Carterville Heritage Museum and Leigh Bedokis Photography.  The historic building has been renovated to showcase Tri-C memorabilia and repurposed items including unique pieces from previous Carterville school buildings and beloved stores such as Hampton Drug Store and Heckel’s Furniture.

Crystal Lukens, of Crystal’s Catering & More, owns the business and she is known regionally for our good food and unique recipes.  Her sister, Jennifer Spence, owns the building and is behind the design and renovation of the historic property.

The restaurant serves up delicious breakfast and lunch offerings, seven days a week.  You’ll experience a bakery case filled with treats including homemade donuts, cronuts, scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, cream horns and more.

Interested in a non-fast-food, hot breakfast?  Order the “Harold,” named after Crystal and Jennifer’s dad, and it includes homemade biscuits and gravy, two eggs, two meats, and two ponuts (potato casserole).  There is always a quiche of the day, and other unique breakfast offerings like chicken and waffles or the “Feel Good Griddle” that is a waffle breakfast sandwich.

Lunch is popular, as this unique café serves more than ten delicious sandwich options like the Big Hitter Pork Fritter and the popular Fried Green Tomato-BLT with Pimento Cheese.  Enjoy daily soup options or a variety of salads including regional favorite Crystal’s Salad - plus you can buy her bottled dressing there too!

Support your local eateries and stop by Rise Above It Bakery & Cafe and see what all the buzz is about.  You can also order food for pick-up by calling 985-FOOD.  Rise Above It Bakery & Cafe is definitely A Taste Of Small Town Love.
