Chamber Business Spotlight for September 2, 2019 - Anne West Lindsey District Library

Our next Chamber Business Spotlight of the Week is Anne West Lindsey District Library!

In 2008 a referendum was passed to establish a district library to serve Carterville, Crainville and Cambria. In her will, Anne West Lindsey endowed the library with a generous monetary gift and several acres of land.

The library, named for Mrs. West, was dedicated in October 2010.

Besides housing over 40,000 items available for check-out, the library hosts a variety of programs and activities for all ages and interests. For our children patrons, we have a Pre-School Story Hour on Tuesday mornings; an after-school program, STEAM Stations for 3rd -8th graders on Thursdays; and a Lego Club that meets one Saturday per month for K-2nd graders. We hold a variety of programs for teens throughout the year and a monthly computer class for our adult patrons.

The library is an open and welcoming place. The building is new and beautiful. The staff is helpful and friendly.  Our patrons enjoy our noisy and busy times as well as, our quiet and relaxing moments as well.

We are open Monday and Wednesday 10am-7pm; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am-5pm; and Saturday 10am-4pm.

The library is a great resource for all three communities. We are so grateful to our community for showing us their continued support.
