Spotlight Business of the Week: John A Logan College

John A. Logan College was created by public mandate in 1967 and is currently celebrating its 50th year. The College opened its doors to its charter class in the fall of 1968 and acquired its permanent grounds in Carterville in 1969.

Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1972, John A. Logan College now offers a wide variety of programs, including foundation courses for the bachelor's degree, technical and vocational curricula, adult education classes and public service activities.

John A. Logan College values its relationship with Carterville. As the College has grown so too has the town providing an abundance of opportunities for both students and staff. The College and the community have partnered on several activities that have benefited both. The residents, city officials and the Carterville school district have never wavered in their support for the College and in return we are forever grateful.

Summer and fall registration for current students began on March 27 and registration for new students begins on April 3. Orientation for all in-district high schools will take place throughout the month of April and early May. The College will welcome the Higher Learning Commission on April 17 and 18 for its 10 year reaffirmation visit. Graduation ceremonies will take place on May 10 and 11.
